What we collect

The Rarehouse X project collects the name, email, state, collection description, quantity and photo links you submit. Don’t include identity documents, financial details or a street address.

Why we collect it

We use this information to review collection enquiries, keep a record of the request and contact you about it. Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up for marketing.

Storage and access

Enquiries are stored on the project’s hosted database in Germany. Access to enquiry records is restricted to authorised operators. Photo links remain hosted by the service you choose; its privacy rules also apply.

Security and service records

The service uses an anonymous, keyed network identifier to limit repeated requests. It expires from the active rate-limit store within a day as requests are processed. Infrastructure providers may retain security and connection logs under their own operating policies. This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Retention

We keep enquiries while they are being reviewed and while follow-up records are needed. Requests to remove information are handled manually. Transaction records, if a purchase occurs, may need to be retained separately for accounting or legal obligations.

Access, correction and deletion

Use the collection form’s “Privacy request” category, enter “Not applicable” for collection size and describe your request. Use the original email and reference where possible. We may need to verify the request before changing or deleting a record.

Photographs and saved finds

Uploaded photographs are stored privately with your enquiry in the project database and its backups. We re-encode photographs and remove embedded metadata. Only the operator can retrieve them; they are not automatically published. External photo links retain their original sharing permissions.

Collection preferences, identifying details and suburb or postcode are used to review your enquiry. Saved finds use local storage in your browser, do not create an account and do not reserve an item. You can remove them on the Saved page or by clearing site data.
